Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?

There are no appointments needed! DermatologistOnCall makes it convenient to create a visit on your own time and receive your treatment plan within 48 hours.  Simply create an account, complete your medical history, submit your dermatology concern, and upload 2-9 photos.  Your virtual dermatology visit is sent securely to your provider for evaluation. A board-certified dermatology provider will complete a treatment plan which may or may not include prescriptions.  Any prescriptions will be sent to the pharmacy you chose during your visit.

Will I be speaking with my board-certified dermatologist?

DermatologistOnCall allows you to make visits on your own time, that is why all messaging and treatment is done through our online portal.  Your dermatology specialist will review your medical history, dermatologic concerns, and photos to provide you with a comprehensive treatment plan.

*Some states require a brief introductory call to meet your provider

What if I need a follow-up visit?

Follow-up visits are created just like a new visit. Your provider and pharmacy have been saved with the option to change your selection for every visit. If there have been no changes in your medical history, simply update your provider on your skin condition, and upload new photos. Your provider will review your progress and complete your updated treatment plan.

Can my family use one account?

No. Each member of your family will need their own account.  Just like an office, each patient will need their own “online chart” to record their medical history.  The account is considered the patient’s online chart.  When entering a visit for your child, enter your child’s information first.  You will enter your information in the surrogate section.

Do you have any dermatologists near me?

When creating a visit, participating board-certified providers licensed in your state are presented along with their credentials. Locate the provider closest to you by entering your location in the search bar.

Can I use my local pharmacy? What about a mail-order pharmacy?

Absolutely!  DermatologistOnCall realizes that you might want your medication fast.  When creating your visit, you have the option to select your own pharmacy or a mail-order pharmacy for your convenience.

Can I use my insurance to pick up my medication?

Yes, you can! If you do not have insurance, services like CoverMyMeds can help you find the best price for the medications prescribed by your provider.

Upload my photos

On your phone or tablet:

  • You are able to take a photo or access your camera roll to choose a photo already saved on your phone

On a desktop/laptop:
